Awards

ISHA believes very strongly that the advancement of the field of hip arthroscopy begins with research. We also believe that this begins with young, bright individuals. To help promote this, ISHA confers two competitive awards during the Annual General Meeting. The Richard N. Villar Excellence in Clinical Science Award, and the ISHA Basic Science award will be awarded to the 2 best scientific presentations at the ISHA meeting. The requirements are that the research was performed by, and presentation made by, a person who did the research while in training as a resident or fellow. During abstract submission, the author needs to denote if the abstract should be considered for these awards. A panel of judges will score each presentation based on the quality of the research, the presentation, and the presenters responses to queries by the moderator and/or congress participants. Each award comes with an Award Certificate and Financial Award.
