Conditions for submitting an abstract

Submission process and deadline

  • The submission deadline is 15 October 2018 23:59:59 CEST.
  • Abstracts on the particular subjects can be submitted exclusively online: www.ifssh-ifsht2019.com. Applications via fax, e-mail, etc. cannot be taken into consideration.
  • Posters are equally submitted as abstracts, related to the respective topics.
  • Modification and corrections to abstracts will be accepted until closing date.
  • Notifications about acceptance or refusal will be sent out during December 2018 and January 2019.
  • Please note that all presenting authors must register for the Congress and pay the appropriate registration fee.

Size, structure and content

  • The abstract is limited to 2,000 characters incl. gaps. The abstract has to contain all relevant data.
  • For "New Research" papers, the following structure is mandatory: Title, Objective; Materials and Methods; Results; Conclusions.
  • For "Practice Issues" papers, the following structure is mandatory: Title, Clinical issue/s, Clinical reasoning, innovative, analytical or new approach, Contribution to advancing HT practice
  • To assure an anonymous handling, it is not allowed to mention any names of the author or of the hospital or of the location of the hospital in the text.
  • Only plain text is allowed: do not use tables, tabs, listings, any other formatting (bold, colours, etc).
  • Avoid using non-standard abbreviations.
  • It is not allowed to submit an abstract several times to different subjects of the congress.
  • The number of authors per abstract is limited to 5. The presenting author must be listed first. At least one of the authors must be registered in the meeting.

Publication, presentation

  • The language of submission and presentation is English.
  • All accepted abstracts will be published in the internet. All authors listed have to give their consent regarding the abstract text, publication in the abstract volume as well as the publication on the internet. The abstract text has to be written in a way that it is usable for publication.
  • Results that have already been published or that have been lectured elsewhere cannot be submitted.
  • The presenting author must be listed first. The person, who is mentioned first, is responsible for the compliance with ethic regulations and the law on animal protection.
  • Posters will be presented as e-Posters on digital terminals in the exhibition area.

Evaluation

  • All submitted abstracts will be reviewed anonymously by several experts.
  • Evaluation criteria are (sorted by importance):
    • Quality of the Presentation Content
    • Educational Value
    • Quality of Written Abstract
  • Abstracts that show formal errors (multi-submission for the same congress, not anonymised, already published elsewhere) will be rejected.
  • Email notifications about acceptance or refusal will be sent to the presenting author subsequent to the reviewing process.
