Technical reference and guidelines regarding submission of abstracts
Submission, Deadline
- Abstracts have to be submitted exclusively online.
- Deadline for application is 15 November 2017 23:59:59 CET.
- Alterations and corrections may be executed previous to the deadline.
Topic, Language
- Each contribution must relate to one of the given topics.
- Abstracts may be submitted and presented in German or English.
Size, Content
- The abstract is limited to 2,200 characters (spaces included).
- The title should be phrased short and significant.
- The following structure of the abstract is mandatory: objectives, methods, results and conclusions.
Conditions, Requirements
- It is not allowed to submit an abstract several times to different subjects of the congress.
- The number of authors is limited to 10 altogether. The presenter must be listed first.
- The abstract text has to be orthographically suitable for publishing.
- The usage of special formatting should be limited. The correct replication in all media cannot be guaranteed.
Publication, Presentation
- Accepted papers will be published for quotation in "Sports Orthopaedics and Traumatology (SOT)" as well as in "Deutsche Zeitschrift für Sportmedizin (DZSM)".
- Please be aware that in case of extremely long headlines or lists of authors, your abstract may have to be shortened for publication in the abstract book.
- All listed authors have to consent to the abstract content and publication as well as to the publication of their name in all congress media.
- Posters are equally submitted as abstracts related to the respective topics.
Review, Registration
- All submitted abstracts will be reviewed anonymously by several experts.
- Evaluation criteria are: aim and objective (inventive, important, clearly defined), material and methodology (adequate design, prospective or retrospective), results (complete, trend-setting, statistically covered) and conclusions (critical, well deduced, current literature).
- Subsequent to the reviewing process, e-mail notifications about acceptance or refusal will be sent to the first authors who will inform their co-authors about the result.
- In case of acceptance as oral or poster presentation, the presenting authors receive a discounted congress ticket. All co-authors have to register formally if required.
- The first author is automatically the presenting author.
