Login/Registration

 How can I register with the system?
Enter your email address under New Registration, and then click "Register". On the next screen you will be able to enter a password, accept the general conditions, and provide your personal data. If you then click "Register" you will receive an email containing links through which you can confirm or decline the registration. If you click the confirmation link, your registration will be complete and you will be logged on to the system.


 I have forgotten my password. What can I do?
Click the "New password" button. Enter your email address on the next screen, and click "Request new password". You will receive an email at the address you have provided, containing a link which you should click. Another email, containing your new password, will then be sent to you. You can then log on to the system with this password.


 How can I change my password?
Once you have logged on, you can click "Access data" in the menu under Profile. You can provide a new password here.


 I have not received the confirmation mail. What might be the reason?
Sometimes it can take a while before emails are sent. If you have not received a mail within an hour, check that the address is written correctly, and look in your spam filter if you have one.



Working on abstracts

 How can I find out whether my abstract is complete?
As soon as you have selected an abstract you will see a status box on the right hand side, underneath the information about the submission deadline. The status (incomplete, complete and submitted) is amongst the information provided there. If you click the small question mark behind the status, you will be shown more detailed information about the status of the abstract.


 Can I enter more than one institute for a single person?
This is only possible if you create more than one entry for the the person. Please take care not to overwrite the existing persons.


 How can the text of the abstract be formatted?
Highlight the text that you would like to format. You can then select the formatting that you want on the right-hand side. This may require you to display the "Formatting" area. The highlighted text is enclosed within tags which ensure that the text is displayed in the corresponding format. Check the appearance of the abstract on the preview page.


 How can I enter special characters?
Click the place where a special character is to be inserted. Then click the special character that you want on the right-hand side. This may require you first to display the "Other characters" area. The special character will then be inserted at the chosen place, where it will have the form #CHR:XXX#. Check the appearance of the abstract on the preview page.


 Is a special character included in the total character count?
Yes. Each special character is treated like a normal character.


 How can I insert a mathematical symbol?
Click the place where a mathematical symbol is to be inserted. Then click the symbol that you want on the right-hand side. This may require you first to display the "Mathematical symbols" area. The mathematical symbol will then be inserted at the chosen place, where it will have the form #CHR:XXX#. Check the appearance of the abstract on the preview page. Each mathematical symbol counts like a normal character.


 How can I enter Greek letters?
Click the place where a Greek letter is to be inserted. Then click the Greek letter that you want on the right-hand side. This may require you first to display the "Greek alphabet" area. The Greek letter will then be inserted at the chosen place, where it will have the form #CHR:XXX#. Check the appearance of the abstract on the preview page. Each Greek letter counts like a normal character.


 How can I insert a table?
The first step is to create the table. Do this by clicking the small plus sign behind "Tables". On the next screen you can provide information about the table, quote the number of lines in columns, and select a layout. Once you have done this, click "Create table and edit contents". You can edit the contents of the table on the next screen. After that, click "Save table contents". You will be returned to the contents page of the abstract, and the table you have just created will appear on the right-hand side under "Tables". Click the place in the abstract contents at which the table is to be inserted. Then click the table which will be inserted in the form #TBL:XXXX# at the chosen location. Next to the table, on the right-hand side, you will also find symbols for deleting and editing the table. Check the appearance of the abstract on the preview page.


 Is a table included in the total character count?
Yes, each table is counted with 50 characters.


 How can I insert an image?
The first step is to create and upload the image. Do this by clicking the small plus sign behind "Images". On the next screen you will be able to provide information about the image, select a file from your local computer, and upload the data. Back on the contents page of the abstract, the image that you have just created will now appear under "Images". In the contents of the abstract you should now click the place at which the image is to be inserted, and then click the image. The image will now appear in the text in the form #IMG:XXX#. On the right-hand side, next to the image, you will also find symbols for deleting and editing the image. Check the appearance of the abstract on the preview page.


 Is an image included in the total character count?
Yes, each image is counted with 300 characters.



Abstract submission

 Why can't I edit my abstract?
You can edit your abstract as long as the submission deadline has not passed. If it has already been submitted, you must first withdraw it. After it has been edited, the abstract must be submitted again.


 Can I submit my abstract even when it is currently lodged at a different organisation, but has not yet been presented there?
That depends on the guidelines of the particular organisation. You can find information here.


 How can I edit my abstract or its authors?
That is possible only up to the submission deadline. Log on to the system. If your abstract has already been submitted, you must first withdraw it. It is then possible for you to edit your abstract, edit the authors, make additions, deletions or change the sequence. Please do not forget to submit your abstract again afterwards. Only abstracts that have been submitted can be reviewed.
